May is one of my favourite months to spend on the moor,

As the days grow warmer, a beautiful sea of bluebells spreads across the ancient forest floor, their vibrant hues adding an extra touch of magic to the moss-draped woodland. Blackthorn trees bloom in soft white clouds, while cotton-grass bobs in the wind on the hills. Even the gnarled old Hawthorn trees burst briefly into delicate bloom, releasing a subtle almond-like scent, while the Rowan trees add to the seasonal transformation with a profusion of creamy white flowers, bringing brightness to the hills and valleys.

The call of the cuckoo still echoes across the moor, and the foals and lambs remain as endearing as ever.

I would love to welcome you onto the moor this coming May for a wonderful meditative quiet walk and wild camping adventure.

The 9.04 am train from London Paddington will get you to Totnes 11.47 am.
