August is a special month to walk and sleep out on Dartmoor, the combination of usually warm days and evenings with the shortening of the days makes the perfect opportunity for star gazing. On clear nights the Milky way can easily be seen from our camp spots and the yearly Perseid meteorite shower spanning much of August is a real treat on Dartmoor. This weekend falls close to the peak with very little moon so ideal conditions to watch meteorites if we have a clear night!…lying back on a grassy hill marvelling at the summer night sky is one of my all-time favourite things to do when sleeping outside. And should we be blessed with extra warm august weekends we add a few more wild swimming opportunities to the days.

Start time: Totnes station on Saturday the 8th 12.00 am.

End time: Totnes station Monday the 9th 4.00 pm.

The 9.03 am train from London Paddington will get you to Totnes 11.52 am

Upon booking, you will receive a comprehensive email pack with all-important detail of what to bring, etc. Along with a registration form, this will need to be filled out and returned within two days to finalise your booking.
